At Frank’s Express we understand the importance of minimising adverse effects of some business practices on the environment. That is why we have put in place our environmental policy to ensure that we have as little impact as possible on our environment.
Our Policy:
To reduce waste & minimise on packaging: We try and use melamine or china plates to serve our food whenever possible to minimise the use of plastic disposables and needless packaging.
Recycle as much waste as possible: Recycle bins are used in the offices for general purposes (paper, glass, plastics & metals). We also recycle printer cartridges & photocopier toners. In the kitchens, all recyclable waste is separated and taken to the nearest recycle point.
Reduce our carbon impact: We try as hard as possible to source products locally, failing that we opt for as much British produce as possible. Although importing some exotic fruits for example cannot be avoided we do try our best to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum.
Reduce energy consumption: Strict guidelines are in place to ensure all appliances are kept running only when needed. Nothing is left on standby when not in use. By doing this energy consumption and waste is minimised.
Use sustainable & environmentally friendly produce: We have a policy of only using sustainable produce. For example we only use Skipjack tuna and not the environmentally threatened species such as Blue Fin or Yellow Fin. All of our tuna is also dolphin safe. Where possible we try to source organic products to minimise usage of pesticides & other chemicals.
